These original Casinos hardly ever come up for sale & is complete with it's original case which is in good condition. Wonderful action and unique Casino sound. I have used this guitar in concert and recording with the British Beach Boys. It is in wonderful condition with crazed vintage cherry finish and has a few little nicks but nothing structural

The guitar is of course maple with a lovely  1 3/4" thinline construction with a fabulous Cherry finish finish. 22 fret dark Rosewood fingerbord with pearloid markers, mahogany set neck  Mini  humbuckers.

This is a USA model made with a serial number that proves it was made 1967 in the Gibson Kalamazoo, Michigan factory. It comes with it's original case

Also included an old insurance certificate from the MU with my name and address on as proof it was played by myself .

I will include a signed photo with the guitar also dated

The Epiphone range of the 1960s closely followed the Gibson guitars of the same time; they were both made in the same fatory in Kalamazoo. The Casino corresponds to the Gibson ES330 having the same dimensions and construction, but with different headstock shape and (sometimes) tailpiece. The 1961 models came equipped with the Tremotone vibrato, which was optional by 1962. The Frequensator tailpiece was used on a number of models - the point being that it would lengthen either the three thickest or three thinest strings, maximising treble and bass response.

1964 advertisement for the Epiphone Casino, Sorrento, Sheraton and Rivoli bassThe most famous Casino users were Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones, and John Lennon and George Harrison of the Beatles, who were given a pair of Casinos in 1965. Both had a sunburst finish, Georges had a Bigsby vibrato, whilst John's had a stop tailpiece. It was Lennons of course that had the most use; he was widely pictured with it, and used it extensively live and in the studio. He also had it stripped down in 1968. Epiphone make two John Lennon Signature Casinos - one based on the unstripped 1965 model, and one, the 'Revolution' Casino based on the stripped instrument. Epiphone engineers studied the original guitar to get these signature instruments as exact as possible

Shipping figures for 1960s Epiphone Casinos The earliest Epiphone catalogue to feature the Casino (1961) lists just the single (E230T) and double (E230TD) pickup models - with vibrola as standard. These shipping figures suggest that non-vibrola models were shipped later in the same year. Early finishes were Royal Tan andShaded (sunburst), and figures do not differentiate between the two. From 1967Cherry became available (C), and Royal Tan was given the designation RT. From '67 models with no colour code were Shaded

About John Lennon's famous Casino

A 1965 Epiphone E230TD Casino (hollow-body f-hole electric, sunburst finish, stock trapeze tailpiece); Serial #328393.  Purchased early in the year, the Casino was first used in April for the Revolver sessions, and first played live on 1 May 1966 at the New Musical Express Annual Poll-Winners' All-Star Concert, Wembley (right).  This guitar served as Lennon's main guitar from then on, including the '66 tours, when I saw it at Shea Stadium.  The Gibson/ Epiphone website describes the Casinos as having "the same basic body dimensions and construction of the commonly recognized Gibson ES-335 [actually, the 330], the Epiphone Riviera and the Epiphone Sheraton. However, unlike the 335-style [sic] body, which features a solid-center block, the Casino is completely hollow.  Additionally, older Casinos featured a 17-degree (as opposed to a 14-degree) headstock and a neck joint at the 16th (as opposed to the 17th) fret. This creates more string tension and when combined with the thin, hollow body produces a very unique sound."  In '67, when the other Beatles were painting their guitars, Lennon sprayed the back of this guitar (body and neck) with white and gray paint, leaving the sunburst finish on
