Burns Fenton -Weill 1960's vintage ultra rare collectable-SOLD

THIS ITEM NO LONGER AVAILABLE-NOW SOLD

I am very pleased to offer this ultra rare & collectable guitar from the early 60's up for auction. It is all original and could be a Dualtone, Amazon or Zambessi 333 or a derivitive. But it is absolutely one of the early British made guitars from the Burns/Weill stable. Notice the distinctive headstock and the Van Ghent original machine heads ( so well made and attractive ) the ultra thin smooth maple neck with MOP inlays on the rosewood fingerboard, what seems to be a solid alder body. wonderful all in one tremelo/bridge unit with full tuning and string height adjustment and original tremelo arm ( this is constantly attatched & can't be removed by unscrewing - thats's why it is still there!!). Tremelo works well and very effective. Typical Burns die-cast aluminium control knobs and lovely 4 ply BWBW pickguard. The two strap buttions are odd but a minor point. The overall finish is red but time and tide have taken a toll & now there is some black showing through and all over the back of the instrument. Actually all this adds to the character of the guitar. There is a number stamped on the back of the headstock ,hard to read but I can see U265. ( Perhaps someone can shed more light on the serial number situation. The action is very nice and low and playable. When I made a bone nut for this guitar the whole action and set up just felt like it easily was meant to be-

Great guitar , piece of British Rock history.
