This is a very rare MII (Made in Italy) EKO Pilgrim P-8 complete with original Lo Duca shaped case, in good condition from 1965. EKO guitars were made to very high standard in Ricanti and imported by Rose Morris into the UK. This guitar has the EKO  look and feel ,all original with its Highly resonant oak top, Mahogany sides and acoustically arched mahogany back , Rosewood fingerbaord with inlaid position markers, Pyroxylin trim to protect the top edge and sound hole. high speed thin 5 piece easy-to-play neck,Metal T bar reinforced neck,Moveable Rosewood bridge with triple chrome trapeze tailpiece, Machine heads very typical of '65 in good brass construction, Natural finish top in new long -lasting protective Polyester. The finish is very good apart from a bit of regluing near the rear of the top two shoulders and a feature of these EKOs is that some typical Polyester cracking occurs around the neck giving a lovely vintage look. Case is in reasonable order made of hard fibreboard covered in scuff resistant material and finished with red felt inside, a little of the top stiching has come away , but no problem to its functionability. handles and hinges and stays in good condition. Sounds terrific ,with a new set of brass strings although can just as easily take nylon set if needed, for all styles from Folk to Rock. Collectable and desirable addition to any collection.
