Hofner Beatle Guitar 1966 - original Selmer case- Rare-SOLD

Ultra Rare and very desirable collectors Hofner Violin (Beatle) Guitar in original Selmer Case & an original  retailer's  tie on stock ticket. In very good original condition with a tiny scratch near the bridge a bit of marking around the pot holes and general surface/stress lacquer cracks on the front. Two pots have been replaced with original 1962 Preh pots from Germany  (Norbert) Musikkeller. I had a tremendous job on my hands to acheive this work because of the restricted entry possibilities in the body cavity but all is done now satisfactorily and she sounds and plays fantastic. Some history of this guitar that I have gleaned from the net follows -

Riding on Hofner's success of Paul McCartney's 500/1 bass.  Same body as the 500/1, and a bolt-on neck with similar ornamentation to the Verithin - i.e. bar fret markers and vine leaf headstock inlay. Sunburst appears to have been the standard finish. Twin  513 pickups were fitted, with three simple rotary controls with a combined treble boost & three way pickup selector - a similar arrangement than that usually fitted to its European/US market cousin, the Hofner Model 459. Selmer import from Hofner reportedly only 100 to 200 being sold during its production period in 1966 and 1967. This alone makes it a desirable collectors piece
