Hofner Colorama 1 Vintage '62-3 SOLD

Hofner Colorama 1 in good original condition. 1962-3 probably out of Selmer with serial No.782. Original red finish has aged nicely with patina surface laquer cracking yet still retaining it's deep colour. The same can be said for the one piece bolt on maple neck. THe only non origina;l part is the tremelo arm which I had to manufacture as the original was missing ( note I have gone for the European sold Galaxie type rather than the flat Selmer supplied one) it works very well and in keeping with the guitar vintage. Every other part is original ,nice machine heads with all original buttons and ferrules, Diamond logo pickup working well with high output ( sounds great) , original pots and wiring with original control knobs, lovelyu original bridge and tremelo unit with good spring return for those lovely Marvin type effects, I have even left on the original tape wound strings that were found on the guitar ( just replacing the plain 2nd & 1st strings for new, original strap buttons. Lovely straight neck and perfect action as can be seen from the pics.

 The guitar would have cost 28gns in 1962 from Selmer- I am sorry but it will cost a little over that today because it is overall a terrific collectors guitar or ideal for a retro band member as a real working instrument.
