Vintage 70's Satellite 169/J-short scale 3/4 length with hard case-SOLD

Nice little vintage bass, MIJ (Made in Japan in the 70's), and in great shape with a fitted plush lined rectangular hard case. This model was first known as the 66/W and later became the 169/J when it was introduced in black finish. The overall condition is very good with one or two small marks on the finish. The guitar supports very nice chrome work enclosed machine heads, fabulous pickups and bridge & tailpiece . ( these parts alone are worth in the region of £100). The pickups are very sort after on the MIJ guitars. The electrics all work fine with a set of two way switch selectors and a volume & tone control. The neck is smooth and easy to play with tapewound strings that allow you to slide easy and give a good old fashioned thump to the sound. there is a bit of relief on the neck because of the heavy tapewound strings but that can be adjusted with the truss rod. NB Since taking the pics I have replaced the 3 missing small chromed screws at the top of the pickguard. Nice gold logo on headstock along with string retaining tree. The case has plush lining and is well constructed as a purpose build for this guitar, it is also very weasily managable weight wise. My 10 year old can easily carry this and has fallen in love with the bass. He like me has far too many guitars . So it was a NO!.
