This is a pristine condition all valve Watkins WEM Dominator MKII guitar amp up for auction, It is an early 1970s with 15 watts of punchy and sweet warm natural push pull valve overdrive so you can get killer guitar tones that were used in the British Rock & Beat invasion. The original early sixties Dominator was restyled from the double slant front end into this tall 1 x 12" cabinet and given a face lift for the then more modern updated WEM image , obviously the new breed of guitarist in the early seventies wanted something more modern than the two tone coulered cab of it's predessor. The new model featured a new day glow bright orange modern logo and with it's black satin vinyl covering and red/gold/black grill cloth it was an instant hit. The condition of these features on this Dominator, Ser.No. CW 00550, is exceptional as is the overall condition of everything including the valves, knobs, handle, speaker etc etc.
This is a players / collectors amp and really I was so suprised today when I tried her again on how much raw power is pumped out from the valves and 12" Goodman's heavy duty speaker. The tremelo works wonderfully and is a great effect switchable by the enclosed footswitch, ( this footswithch is not the original as it has a jack end and goes into a phono adapter, original would just have a phono plug on the end and not a jack plug. It is very close to the original and one could remove the jack and replace with a phono if desired.
The amp also supports two microphone inputs and two normal guitar inputs.
Dimensions are 24 1/2" (620mm) x 17" (444mm) x 10" (260mm) Weight 35 lbs (15.9 kgms)
This will be a sad loss to my collection but at least it will go to a good home and hopefully used a lot more than I have been able to. ( I use a Fender twin in my band)
