Fabulous 1981 vintage Westone Thunder 1A (Active) out of the famous Matsumoko factory in Japan. This guitar has been set up and plays brilliantly with a great action ,intonation & wide variety of sounds. The body is made of Canadian ash/rock maple and Walnut laminate and a contoured body finished in matt light oak. The headstock is of a refined design and the whole guitar is well balanced and comfortable to play. The bolt on neck is made from hard maple and reinforced with an adjustable steel truss rod housed in an alminium channel. Fitted with 22 frets the ebonised rosewood fingerboard has a scale length of 24 3/4" and a deep body cutaway for easy access to the 22nd fret. Rotomatic die-cast machine heads provide precise tuning. Brass top nut. Twin Magnet -F450 humbucking pick-ups are fitted and can be used as standard humbuckers or switched to single coil. Pick-up selector, master volume and individual tone controls are provided. The volume and tone controls are fitted with knurled brass knobs for easy operation, and the brass bridge has individual string adjustment for both height and scale length. The active circuit consists of both pre-amp and equalizer providing 13db of boost and a total of+-25db equalizer off centre position. The simple control network provides a wide range of sounds with coil -tap , phase switch & equalizer mini switches.

The overall condition of the guitar is used and played but all adding to the majical mojo of the instrument. I would not usually auction this but the arrival of an EB3L means this and it's sister Thunder 1 bass must now go.
